Despicable Me Party

Have a brother or sister who's craaazy about Despicable Me? Or are you crazy yourself? Understandable. Despicable Me is the most perfect movie ever. And bringing it to life in your party is even more exciting! I threw a surprise graduation party for my little brother who just finished elementary school. (yes, surprise. & yes, it was the hardest thing to prepare for especially him being around all the time)
Well, here are some ideas you can use to create this despicable party.

-Invitations? I just used Photoshop and created this out of scratch. Leave a comment with your email address if you need the PDF file to customize.
Lesson learnt: Should have used a white cardboard paper for the outside.

-Goodie Bags? I bought yellow paper sacks from Michaels to make this. I printed out goggles according to the bag size and created the mouth and hair with a black sharpie.

-Party Favors? I kept small goodies such as goggles and tattoos which I simply purchased from Party City as part of the party favors and kept the "minion gadgets" label between them and the goodie bags.

Other party favors? I also kept water guns for the boys and lipsticks for the girls that I had bought from the dollar store. I had the perfect labels to go with it.
My friend cut out the "Gru made these for the boys" part while taking this picture. Apologeez.
Same with this label, "Lucy made these for the girls). Apologeez again.
-Party Sign is sooo necessary!

-Favorite part, FOOD! I had A LOT of snacks for the kids, and I mean a lot. By the time the cake came around, no one wanted to eat it. And the best part, all the food fit into the theme. Have a look:
Just regular chocolate chip cookies that fit into theme from the first Despicable Me movie.
I used cotton candy for this.
This has to be the hardest part of the party. I bought marshmallows and then I bought candy melt and candy eyes from Michaels. Using a small spatula, I covered the marshmallows with the candy melt. At the end, used black icing to make the hair and glued the eyeballs.

These are popcorn balls. Recipe can be found easily on Google. Using purple cellophane paper and twisty ties from Michaels can be made into this. All you need is a vase and printed evil minion goggles and mouth.
All you need is a yellow drink and a label that says anti-gravity serum and you'll have flying kids in no time.
Cake courtesy: Sams Club, thank you. The cake was great.

-The decorations? I swear I didn't forget. Fortunately, I got sick the day of and couldn't do the preparations I wanted to because of my weakness. This is the best I could do.
I used a yellow fabric, some blue streamers and Despicable Me balloons bought from Party City. That should do the trick. My mom really wanted to add this deflated graduation cap balloon even though I didn't want to. Should have took a picture of it before. Oh wellz.

& Voila! There you go, your Despicable Me Party!
(Almost forgot, table cover is also from Party City)
-Games? Although I didn't take any pictures, I can just list the games we played. My brother had a minion stuffed toy so we played, "Pass the Minion" AKA Hot Potato. I bought "Pin the Goggles on the Minion" from Party City. And of course, a ritual game of musical chairs with the "Happy" song playing in the back. All minion themed. I also bought a pinata from Walmart.

You can purchase all the food labels, favor tags, party sign and cupcake toppers on Etsy.com for just $7.99
